Established in 1983, G-Shock’s empire was built on the premise of the “Triple 10” Concept: A 10-year battery life, 10-bar water resistance and 10-meter dropping shock resistance for their watches.  The unprecedented idea of a hollow structure where the module is “floated” was the birth of G-Shock watch case structure and every model since, making it resistant to mechanical shocks, centrifugal gravity and vibrations. Since its creation G-shock has continued its unrestrained evolution with their watches today including solar batteries, smart access, atomic clock synchronising, Multi Band 6 technology, and 200-metre water resistance. Ever since their first watch model in 1983, G-Shock has been raising their standards for innovative designs, tough structures and powerful modules. Now to mark the 2018, 35^th Anniversary of the G-Shock comes the GMWB50001D; a full-metal version of the G-Shock base model with a Connected engine. This new watch represents a refinement of the hollow case structure which achieves an even higher level of shock resistance. Fine resin shock absorbers between the metal bezel and case create the shock resistant full metal case structure. Alongside innovative new band connections that have been subjected to the strongest shock levels, add additional centre lugs that lessen the load on the band pins. The soft resin band of the GMWB5000 creates a more comfortable fit, and with a highly wear resistant diamond like coating (DLC) the screw back case gives the watch a feeling of heft.
