1979 saw the, then Saints, win their 15th Premiership against Canterbury with a game that had fans on both teams on the edge of their seats for the entire game. The Grand Final win is attributed to the kicking boots of prop forward, George Grants who scored four goals in the GF ultimately sealing The Saints win, 17-13.
