Each year Nike and the NBA use the canvas of a jersey to create art that embodies the basketball community of each city, intertwining its history and culture into the new City Edition team design.
This year, The Suns' 2023/24 City Edition Jersey pays tribute to the Mexican culture that runs deep in El Valle. With rich colours and details reminiscent of classic lowriders, this jersey honours the iconic Chicano art form of riding low and slow.
Taking centre stage is a hand-drawn "El Valle" ("The Valley" in Spanish) wordmark, representing the dedicated Chicano and Hispanic fans that make the Valley of the Sun such a special place. The lower-left anthem detail and side panels have a custom pinstriping design commonly found within the paint jobs of lowriders throughout The Valley.
