With three Super Bowl wins under their belt, the newly established Los Angeles Raiders, who had moved from Oakland the season prior, XVIII Super Bowl effort against the Washington Commanders was one to remember. Going up against the raining champs, the Raiders absolutely dominated the game with a 38 to 9 defeat that went down in history as one of the biggest Super Bowl margins, and is still 40 years later the most points scored by an AFC team in a Super Bowl game. Raiders halfback Marcus Allen was named Super Bowl MVP and boasted 20 ball carries, a then-record total of 191 yards, two touch downs, another then-record of 74-yard run in the third quarter and was the first running back who was a halfback to be named Super Bowl MVP!
