1996-1997 saw Shaquille O’Neal’s first season with the Lakers, and although he sat out for most of it due to an injury, in his first playoff game for the Lakers he scored 46 points against the Blazers, the highest score for the team since Jerry West in 1969. That season was also the year he spoke his iconic quote after an on-court altercation with the controversial Dennis Rodman “it’s one thing to talk tough and one thing to be tough”. The following season saw Shaq leading the league with a 58.4 field goal percentage, which he would do so for another 5 consecutive seasons!
