Luka Doncic Dallas Mavericks City Edition Jersey

Each year Nike and the NBA use the canvas of a jersey to create art that embodies the basketball community of each city, intertwining its history and culture into the new City Edition team design.

The Mavericks' 2023/24 City Edition Jersey celebrates 150 years of American R&B. They partnered with Grammy Award-winning artist and North Texas native Leon Bridges to craft a design that pays tribute to one of the genre's birthplaces and the local musicians who helped start a cultural movement.

The dark colour palette nods to the moody, emotional and evocative lyrics associated with American rhythm and blues, while the strings on the side panel pay homage to the guitar-driven nature of the genre. Leon Bridges' debossed handwritten words put the finishing touch on a design that honours culture, music and unity.
