Each year Nike and the NBA use the canvas of a jersey to create art that embodies the basketball community of each city, intertwining its history and culture into the new City Edition team design.

During the 2021 play-off run, Bucks fans flooded the Deer District to celebrate the team's first championship in 50 years. The inspiration for Milwaukee's 2023/24 City Edition jersey comes directly from its arena and the fans that make the surrounding area one of the best gathering places in the league.

Blue is reminiscent of Milwaukee's fresh, clear waters. The speckled pattern celebrates the sea of fans who packed the Deer District during the Bucks' 2021 title run and celebrated the team's first championship in 50 years. The arch on the chest and down the side nods to the arena's curved roof, while the green taping pays homage to the colour shown after the Bucks win a game.
